6 SUIT RULES EVERY MAN SHOULD KNOW
FIT

Fit is everything in your suit, gone are the days when men wore suits that had a lot of space in them, you need a good fit for your suit, for this your best bet is a bespoke suit. One crafted by a good menswear fashion brand, with cognisance to fabric quality and body fit. Another alternative for those with regular body types is, get a ready-made/off-the-rack suit and have it tailored.
WHITE SHIRT
For starts always do a white shirt, when in doubt do a white shirt, and for any formal event, do a white shirt. It’s that simple. It’s easy to accessorise and it’s direct, such that you just can’t go wrong with white as your coordinating shirt colour. Other shirt colour come in later when you have a better understanding of men style
BUTTONS
Wear a one button suit or a 2 button suit. Nothing more. As a young sartorial, these are your safest options, and very versatile too. When wearing a 2 button suit, always always always have the last button undone. It’s stylish, gives you easy body movement and makes you look well co-ordinated.
PANTS TOP ON YOUR SHOES

Your trouser pants should stop right on top your shoes, not jumping or too much on it. This gives your leg better movement, and an ability to show some sock while sitting and walking. Also, never wear a white sock. Never ever, it’s a suit not a school uniform.
VENT/POCKET AND LABEL STITCHING
When you get a ready-made/off-the-rack suit, remove the stitching on the side or back vents and the pockets as well. These points are meant to be open. Also and most importantly remove the label name tag stitched to the sleeves of the suit. The purpose of this was to identify the brand of the suit during inventory, its not to be worn as a part of the suit.
BELT AND SHOE
Belt/shoe co-ordination is key, always match your belt to your shoes, dark brown belts with dark brown shoes, same as black belt with black shoes.
